Your comparison
Acoustic rating — A/B/C grade based on exterior noise reduction (A = quietest). EPD rating — an Environmental Product Declaration is an independently verified summary of a product's environmental footprint (materials, manufacturing, end of life); A = lowest measured impact.
Quiet space you can install, not build.
Open-plan offices solved collaboration and broke concentration. An acoustic pod is the pragmatic answer: a private, ventilated, soundproofed room that arrives as a product, gets assembled where you want it, and moves again when the floor plan changes. No partition walls, no landlord conversation, no capital works programme.
Who ends up buying one
The trigger is almost always the same: the open-plan floor works for everything except the conversation that needs a door. Sales teams running back-to-back calls. Managers holding 1:1s and appraisals. Recruiters interviewing candidates. Anyone on video calls loud enough to annoy the desk behind them. A pod gives that conversation somewhere to go without booking out the only meeting room in the building.
Matching the pod to the job
A single booth handles calls and focus work in the smallest possible footprint. A 1.5-person pod adds room for a proper chair, desk and monitor, which matters once people are inside for an hour rather than ten minutes. Two-person pods suit interviews and 1:1s. Four- and six-person rooms replace a built meeting room without the building work, and are the ones that need the most thought about access.
Why compare before you commit
Pods run from a few thousand pounds to well over twenty thousand, and the brands describe themselves in incompatible terms — different size naming, different acoustic claims, different environmental reporting. Most suppliers sell one manufacturer and put their pricing behind an enquiry form. Seeing the real options next to each other, priced every way they are available, turns a considered spend into a decision you can actually justify. You can compare all three brands before you shortlist anything.
What buyers ask us first.
What exactly is a soundproof office pod?
A freestanding, self-contained booth that sits inside an existing office. It has its own walls, door, glazing, lighting, ventilation and power, so it does not need building work, planning permission or a change to the floor plan. Because it is furniture rather than construction, it can be installed in a day, moved when the office changes, and — if you rent or lease — handed back at the end of the term.
How much noise does a pod actually block?
Enough that a normal speaking voice inside is not intelligible outside, and that open-plan noise drops to a level you can concentrate through. It is sound reduction, not a recording studio: pods are rated by how many decibels they cut, and that figure varies by model. We group every pod we list into a quietest, balanced or lighter acoustic tier so you can compare brands on the same basis instead of on their own marketing language.
Should we buy, lease or rent?
It depends on which budget the money comes from and how long you need the space. Buying is cheapest over a long horizon and the pod is yours as an asset. Leasing spreads the cost and keeps it out of capital expenditure. Renting suits short leases, project teams and anyone who wants to try pods before committing. We show every route a pod is offered on, side by side, so the comparison is about the commitment as much as the price.
What is included, and what do we need to provide?
The pod itself arrives with its acoustic shell, glazing, ventilation, lighting and internal power. What you provide is the space and a power supply to plug it into, plus access to get it in. Pods are assembled on site, so the practical constraints are the doorway, the lift, the stair turn and whether the work has to happen outside office hours.
How long does delivery and installation take?
That varies by model and by whether the configuration you want is stocked or made to order, so we show the lead time on every pod rather than quoting a single figure. Refurbished units are generally the quickest, because the stock already exists rather than sitting in a production queue.
Do you only work with one manufacturer?
No — that is the point of the site. We are independent and list Framery, Silen and Strata alongside each other, with the same specifications and the same acquisition routes shown for each. A shortlist can mix brands wherever that fits better than a single-brand order.
